Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 11:45am-2:15pm. There were 68 children directly supervised by 11 staff. The physical plant, 7 staff records, 7 children?s records, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, playing outside, swimming in the pool, engaged in small group games, and eating lunch. There was a supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-F
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure rest mats used for rest time had cushioning. Evidence: The mats utilized for quiet rest time were yoga mats.

Plan of Correction: We will purchase new mats with cushioning.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation, children's hands were not washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes after eating meals or snacks. Evidence: After lunch time, children cleaned up their lunch boxes and went to play in small groups. There was no handwashing or use of disposable wipes after the meal.

Plan of Correction: We will provide wipes for after meals.
