An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 4/3/19. Upon arrival to the center each class was asleep except the 4 & 5 year old class. They were preparing to sleep if anyone wanted to. A review of staff and children's records was conducted during the inspection. There are 35 children in care ranging in age of 7 months to four years with six staff and one director present. A violation notice was completed regarding the violations found during today's inspection. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your licensing inspector. Inspection began: 12:15 pm ended 2:40 pm.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-C-2 Description: Based on review of staff records and interviews the center did not have central registry checks on all staff. Evidence: 1. Staff # 4 & 5 have hire dates of 2017 and do not have a central registry check on file. Plan of Correction: The director will have all staff complete the fingerprint-based background check.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-A-3-a Description: Based on observation and tours of the classrooms the center did not have the required staff in each classroom during nap time. Evidence: 1. In the 1-2 year old classroom the children were napping. There were eight children with one staff. Plan of Correction: The director will change staff around so they will meet the staff to child ratio in this room for nap time.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of staff records and interviews the center did not have the required fingerprint-based criminal history background checks on all staff. Evidence: 1. Five staff records were reviewed during the inspection. All five of the staff records did not have the fingerprint-based criminal history background check on file. Plan of Correction: The director will have all staff complete the fingerprint-based background check.
