An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 935- 1130 AM. There were 89 children present in 8 classrooms 16 staff present and 2 administrators available. Staff Records, written disclosures, medication procedures, classroom supervision, and ratios were reviewed today. Staff were cooperative and answered questions about children in care. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-C-2 Description: Based on review of staff records, it was determined that the program did not obtain the search for central registry for two current staff. Evidence: 1. Staff member #3 started in November, 2018 and did not have a completed CPS check in the file. 2. Staff member # 16 started in January, 2019 and did not have a completed CPS check in the file. Plan of Correction: I will have them complete the forms today and send off by Monday.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-A-6 Description: Based on record review, it was determined the program did not describe in a written statement the enrollment capacity. Plan of Correction: I will place it on the "About Us' portion of the Public web site.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-B-6 Description: Based on observation of classrooms, it was determined that one classroom had a wall heater in which the cover had broken off and exposed the sharp edge. This edge was accessible to children. Plan of Correction: We will place a maintenance request in to have the bracket placed back on and secured.
