Technical Assistance:
1. Reviewed background check laws and requirements. Provided link to the Adam Walsh Foundation for out-of-state CPS checks.
2. Provided information about daily health screening training, and child abuse + neglect training.

Comments:
10:25am-12:45pm Conducted a religious exempt program inspection. Observed 33 children + 7 staff in the preschool program. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were engaged in a variety of activities to include: sensory exploration, art/fine motor skills, creative play, blocks, active outside play time/gross motor, and snack. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities in all groups. The facility was found to be very clean, well maintained, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Policies, procedures and administrative processes reviewed with the program director. Areas of non-compliance noted and plans of correction established.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-A-6
Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that required information has not been put in writing and disclosed to parents, guardians, and the general public. Evidence: Information about health requirements for staff, and public liability insurance have not been disclosed in writing, per the program director.

Plan of Correction: This information will be put on the website.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-B-3
Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that staff have not been formally trained in daily health screening. Evidence: The program director indicated that this is a practice done daily, staff have not received training by a medical professional on the topic.

Plan of Correction: Training will be scheduled for preschool staff.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 5 staff reviewed does not have a completed out-of-state central registry check (CPS). Staff #3 - Staff person lived in other states in the last 5 years and CPS checks for those states have not been submitted.

Plan of Correction: The program director will submit CPS checks in the next 10-days, and send a copy of submission to the inspector.
