An unannounced RECDC inspection was conducted today. The program's facility, outside play area, ratios, and paperwork were all checked today. Children 10 months- 5 years are offered care and each grouping had staff that exceeded the ratio requirements. Training, medication procedures, staff files, and policies were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-2 Description: Based on record review, it was determined the Program had not obtained an updated CPS check for staff #3 before 5 years since the last check.
Evidence:
1. Staff #3 had a complete CPS check conducted in 1999.
2. Program showed the most recent check for Staff #3 was sent on September 19, 2019.Plan of Correction: We had just realized we needed to update checks every 5 years and have made corrections to ensure all staff clearances remain current.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on discussion and record review, it was determined the program did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry from an other state in which a staff has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
1. Interview with the Director revealed Staff #5 had resided in another state within the last five years of employment at the program. The Program had not obtained a CPS clearance from that state. for that staff memberPlan of Correction: We did not realize we were required in obtaining that information but will send out the request.
