An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:40 am- 1:00 pm. There were 40 children in care directly supervised by 7 staff. Children were observed playing outside on the playground, eating lunch, getting help when injured on the playground and preparing to go home when not feeling well. Hand washing and cleaning routines were observed and found to be in compliance. A sample of staff records, posted documents and policies we also reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-2 Description: Based upon record review, required repeated searches of the central registry was not available for staff. Evidence: Staff A CPS check 10/4/14 expired 10/14/19 and a re-peat check had not been requested as required. Staff B CPS check 10/21/08 expired 10/21/13 and a re-peat check had not been requested as required. Staff C CPS check 9/1/08 expired 9/1/13 and a re-peat check had not been requested as required. Plan of Correction: Process to initiate repeat check started while inspector on site. Will contact inspector within 10 days with results.
