This annual subsidy inspection was conducted by the inspector using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency declared by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Preliminary data was obtained from the vendor on 2/19/2021. An annual subsidy inspection was initiated on 2/22/2021, at which time the vendor was contacted by video call to initiate the inspection, and concluded on 2/22/2022. The inspector emailed the vendor a list of items required to complete the inspection.
The vendor reported 63 children in care and 13 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed 5 staff records & 5 children records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-530-2-b Description: Based on record review, the Vendor failed to have documentation that out-of-state background checks were completed.
EVIDENCE:
Licensing Inspector reviewed 5 staff records. Sworn Disclosure Background Check for Staff #3 indicated that the staff member has lived outside of the State of Virginia within the past 5 years. Record for Staff #3 did not include documentation of satisfactory results of the child abuse and neglect registry from any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.Plan of Correction: The Vendor must send documentation to the Licensing Inspector that the out-of-state background checks have been requested no later than 10 days following this notification date (2/24/2021)
