Technical assistance was offered related to: Center's interest in applying for a CDC license; background checks.

An unannounced code compliance inspection was conducted on 4/20/22 from 11:10 am to 12:40 pm. There were 82 children in direct care and supervision of 17 staff members. The children were observed in a variety of structured activities including but not limited to playing outdoors, learning about the Earth and recycling, playing in small groups in various centers such as home living and blocks. 3 staff and 3 children's records were reviewed to determine compliance. The information gathered during the inspection determined non compliance with applicable code sections. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain results of an out of state sex offender search by December 31, 2021 for employees hired prior to this date.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 3/16/21.
2. Staff # 1's record indicated that she resided in New York within the last 5 years.
3. Results of a sex offender search for New York were not completed to this date, and were unavailable for review.Plan of Correction: The results were obtained and the licensing inspector was updated with that information.
