- Technical Assistance:
Inspector discussed standard that states, for children under 2 years of age, that Immunization Documentation requires updates every 6 months.
An unannounced monitoring/renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 9 children(22points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 2children?s records, 1household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today and the Provider is no longer MAT certified. Children were observed playing freely and watching a video. Diapering procedures were also observed. There was a supply of age/stage appropriate books, toys, and materials for the children. The Provider and the assistant have attended over 16 hours of annual development and are scheduled for more training. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please sign the completed the violation notice and Inspection summary and return it to me within 10 calendar days from today. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector. Cynthia Ford 703-479-4679
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review of 2 children's records, 1 child's file contains only 1 of the 2 required emergency contact information. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parent for another contact.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-E Description: Based on observation, the Provider did not dispose of a diaper in a container. Evidence: 1. The Inspector observed a tied trash bag on the garage floor. 2. The Provider explained the bag contained a dirty diaper and she had it placed there temporarily because of the smell and she would be placing it in a trash can. 3. Provider has a step on trash can at the changing area but stated she did not want the smell. Plan of Correction: We will place a trash container closer to the garage door so we can dispose of those diapers immediately.
