The tire swing area in the backyard shall remain off limits to children in care.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider and one assistant caregiver were caring for 6 children, totaling 19 points. The children were observed finishing morning snack, playing with toys, building with hard and soft blocks, and preparing to go outside. The provider has planned a birthday celebration for later in the afternoon. This inspection was completed between approximately 9:40 am and 11:20 am. Thank you for meeting with me today. If you have any questions regarding this inspection please email me at email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-A Description: Based on observations, it was determined that the children's diaper ointment products are not stored in a manner to keep them inaccessible to the children. Evidence: The children's diaper ointment containers are stored on the open shelves of the diaper changing table. The changing table is in a corner of the child care area where the children have access to it when entering/exiting the nap room. Plan of Correction: I will move the diaper ointment containers and store them on a wall shelf.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that two records were not complete. Evidence: Child record #1 and record #2 do not include documentation to show that the parent reviewed the contact information within the past year. Each record was most recently reviewed on 5/12/14. Plan of Correction: They are siblings. I will ask the parent to review each registration form today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-580-B Description: Based on observations and interviews, it was determined that one preschool child is not given the opportunity to nap while in care. Evidence: It was reported to the Inspector that one child (age 3) does not like to nap, so during group nap time he is permitted to stay awake and have one-on-one programming time with the provider. Plan of Correction: I will put a cot down for him and have him attempt to nap. If he stays awake, then I will allow him to either enjoy quiet activities on his cot or to sit with me for programming time.
