The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:35am - 12:00pm. There were six children in care for a total of fourteen points with one caregiver. The children were observed watching an educational video, at free play and during lunch. One adult and four children's records were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-350-E Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to maintain the hot water temperature within a range of 105 to 120 degrees. Evidence: 1. The inspector used the thermometer to measure the hot water temperature. The hot water temperature measured 125.5 degrees. Plan of Correction: The provider will turn down the hot water heater to ensure the hot water temperature does not exceed 120 degrees. The provider will monitor the children closely during hand washing until the hot water heater is turned down.
