- Technical Assistance:
Two assistants have until November 28, 2015 to complete annual training. Please fax certificate to verify completion of the on-line class. Food shall be cut in such as way as to prevent potential choking hazards. Consulted with the provider to cut the corn dogs length wise or leave them on the sticks so the children can eat smaller bites.
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today. Ten children were present with three caregivers for thirty five points whcih is within ratios for supervision. Observed children transitioning to lunch, hand washing, infant care, diapering and rest time. Reviewed all caregiver records, a sample of children records, household member records and household pet rabies record. Emergency preparation is current for supplies, trainings and drills. The home has one large play area and three separate nap rooms for use as well as a large outside space for active play. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Description: Based on observation, 2 outlets were missing protective covers. Evidence: Two outlets did not have protective covers installed to prevent access by children. The outlets were in the crib room near the table that had pillows sitting on top. Plan of Correction: Replaced outlet covers during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation, the diapering table was not used soley for diapering. evidence: The first aid kit was sitting on the table during the inspection. The assistant had placed it there when getting out a band-aid. Plan of Correction: The kit was placed in its original location on the shelf during the inspection.
