- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/1/2015 at 9:30 a. m. and concluded at 11:00 a. m. The inspector met with the provider and some but not all Family Day Home standards were reviewed. There were three children in care with points equaling eight with the provider present. The children were observed having free play, dancing to music and coloring Christmas pictures at the table. There is a variety of materials and equipment for children. Three children records reviewed. Two household member records reviewed. The provider does not administer any medications. Conversations were held with one caregiver and three children. One observation conducted.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on review of the evacuation log the family day home did not conduct monthly evacuation drills. Evidence: On 12/1/15, the last emergency evacuation drill was conducted on 10/23/15. Drills should be conducted monthly. Plan of Correction: I will do evacuation drills monthly and document.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on review of children records the family day home did not have all required information on file. Evidence: On 12/1/15, child #1 record did not include the policy number for the insurance information provided. Plan of Correction: I will contact parent today to get the policy number.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-4 Description: Based on review the most current First Aid and CPR cards the caregiver's training is not current. Evidence: On 12/1/15, the provider's and assistant's First Aid and CPR certifications expired 9/2015. Plan of Correction: First Aid/CPR class scheduled for December 5, 2015.
