54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated today at 1:30pm. The physical plant, 4 caregiver/household member files, 4 children's files, caregiver training, child nutrition, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today. There were 8 children, totaling 20 points, under the supervision of 2 caregivers. Today, the children participated in circle time, danced, exercised and rested during nap time. The Provider also incorporates the Mother Goose curriculum in daily activities. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Today, the children were served macaroni in tomato sauce, green beans with peas, carrots and milk for lunch. The Provider is currently certified in MAT and 2 caregivers certified in CPR and First Aid. All previous violations have been corrected. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-A Description: Based on observations, the temperature in the refrigerator used to store food for the children in care was not at or below 40 degrees. Evidence 1. The thermometer in the refrigerator read 50 degrees. Plan of Correction: The Provider immediately lowered the thermostat in the refrigerator.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on file review, 2 out of 4 caregiver/household members do not have a TB test/screening completed every two years. Evidence 1. Caregiver/household members #1 and #2 have their most recent TB test/screening completed on 8/27/13. Plan of Correction: These will be completed again.
