- Technical Assistance:
1. Reviewed the cleaning procedures of the diaper changing pad. The use of paper does not remove the need to clean and sanitize after each diaper change. 2. Records for children and staff are to be retained for a period of 2 years from the date of termination of services/employment.
Conducted an unannounced renewal inspection. Observed 8 children = 28 points with the Provider + Assistant #1. An adult and child that live in the home were also present in the home. Ratios were in compliance and supervision was constant. Children were eating a morning snack, having indoor free-play, singing/dancing to music, being held and diapered. The caregivers were talking and playing with the children, and promptly tending to their needs. Snack served: bananas, biscuit crackers, and milk. The day care areas were found to be very clean, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. There was newly installed carpet in the main daycare room. Both caregivers obtained the required annual child development training hours. The Provider is currently certified in First Aid/CPR and MAT (medication administration). No transportation reported to be provided. No medications reported to be on-site today. Emergency supplies and plans were in compliance. Required documents were posted. Record keeping is well organized, with one violation found today. Inspection completed 9:45-11:10am. Questions about this report may be directed to: email@example.com
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-E Description: Based on records reviewed and interviews conducted, it was determined that a portion of a caregiver's record was not maintained for a period of 2 years from the date of termination of employment. Evidence: There was no TB screening on-file for Assistant #3 who reportedly has not worked since December 2015. The Provider stated that she gave the documentation to the Assistant and did not retain a copy for her records. Assistant #3 worked from September-December 2015, and was called to work in the home today, but did not work. Plan of Correction: Copy found & sent to inspector on 2/12/16
