22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted beginning at 12:30pm. There were 7 children (19 points) present with the Provider at the beginning of the inspection. The assistant caregiver arrived from a lunch break at 1pm. During the time the allowable points per caregiver was exceeded (by 3 points), the children were napping. Point values are determined by children's ages and cannot exceed 16 points per caregiver at any one time. Adult records and children's records were reviewed today. There are currently no medications on-site for children at this time. The area of the home used for the children continues to be open and provide an ample amount of age appropriate supplies and equipment. This inspection, including the exit interview, ended at 1:30pm. Should you have any questions, please call.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-570-A Description: Based on direct observation and a review of ages of children, the Provider has exceeded 16 points per caregiver (maximum points per caregiver based on children's ages) during this inspection. Evidence: There are 7 children present (all napping) totaling 19 points based on their ages and there is no additional caregiver present. Plan of Correction: My assistant just left to go grab lunch. This normally doesn't happen because she brings her lunch but forgot it this morning. We will not exceed 16 points per caregiver at all times while children are in care.
