Discussed with Provider the importance of correcting violations in a timely manner or she will be placed on a provisional license.
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Provider. This visit took place in the morning between 9:00am-11:00 there were 7 children present with 1 caregiver upon arrival over the points allowed per caregiver. The children were observed having outdoor free play, snack, watching TV and in transition for lunch. positive interactions were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-130 Description: Based on interview and interactions with the caregivers, one caregiver present today was unable to speak, read, and write in English. Evidence: Caregiver #2 who was present alone with the children during this inspection, was unable to communicate with the inspector. Plan of Correction: Provider arrived 20 minutes later and stated that she is taking classes and her husband was suppose to be downstairs.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-570-A Description: Based on observation and children records, the provider did not ensure that a caregiver does not exceed 16 points. Evidence: Upon arrival, a caregiver was alone with 7 children (31 points) and the Provider was not home. Plan of Correction: Provider arrived 15minutes later and stated she had an emergency and had to go to the doctors and her husband was suppose to assist with the children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-3-a Description: Based on observation of the Provider records, one of the records did not include documentation of an original criminal record and central registry check. Evidence: Caregiver #2 record did not include original background checks. Plan of Correction: Provider stated that she was told by Arlington County child care worker that she is not required to have the original.
