- Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on storing food away from cleaners and changing crib linens as needed.
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted from 10:00-11:140. Eight children (two of her own) were in care with two caregivers for twenty nine points which is within ratios for supervision. One large play room is divided into tow areas for infants and older children as well as a sleeping room and prep area for food. Lots of singing observed as well as dancing, infant care, reading aloud and flashcards with the preschool children. New fence has been build around the front yard play area. Training hours for the provider and substitute provider are complete (16.0 hours). New assistant will also need the 16.0 hours by February 2017. Additional classes can be obtained through the VA DSS web site under the Professional Training and Development tab/distance learning. Lunch menu was meatballs and pasta, bread, fruit and veggies. Infants have formula and jar food as provided by parent. Two children's records, new assistant record, emergency supplies and attendance are complete.
