Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on April 20, 2016. Licensing inspector reviewed nutrition, emergencies, care of children, administration, physical environment and equipment, household members and background checks. Today's menu indicated that lunch would consist of hamburger patties, coleslaw, mixed fruit and milk. There were four children present with the provider totaling 11 points. The children were observed watching children's programming and playing freely. Two children's records were reviewed. All household members records were reviewed. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the violation notice. All violations from the previous inspection have been corrected.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-3
Description: Based on review and inspection of the family day home, the provider did not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as appropriate to the age of the children in care, from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or the National Safety Council, or current CPR certification issued within the past two years by a community college, a hospital, a rescue squad, or a fire department. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on April 20, 2016, the CPR certification for the provider expired on 3/30/2016.

Plan of Correction: The provider contacted a trainer during the inspection and will be attending a class on April 24, 2016.

Description: Based on review and inspection of the family day home, the provider did not have current certification in first aid from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or the National Safety Council, or current first aid certification issued within the past three years by a community college, a hospital, a rescue squad, or a fire department. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on April 20, 2016, the first aid certification for the provider expired on 3/30/2016.

Plan of Correction: The provider contacted a trainer during the inspection and will be attending a class on April 24, 2016.
