The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 12:45pm - 2:45pm. There were seven children in care for a total of twelve points with two caregivers. The children were observed working puzzles, at hand washing, during lunch and playing with blocks. Four caregiver's, one household member's and two children's records were reviewed. Violations from the previous inspection were also reviewed and all had been corrected. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions, please contact your licensing inspector at (276) 608-3758. Thank you for your cooperation.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-A Description: Based on record reviews, the family day home failed to obtain all required information for the children's records. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed two children's records. One of two records reviewed (child record #1) did not contain the policy number for the medical insurance. Plan of Correction: The provider will ask the child's parent for this information at pick up time today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to maintain the outside play area in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the outside play area. The grass was several inches high in the play area located next to the drive way. This is a repeat violation of this standard during this licensure period. Plan of Correction: The provider will have the grass cut by the week-end if it doesn't rain. The children will not play in this area until the grass is cut.
