An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today by the licensing inspector. Some but not all standards were checked today. A sample of children's records were reviewed today in addition to caregiver/family member records.
The licensee was present along with her assistant. Four children were in care (7 points) in addition to a family child. The children were watching a movie then played games. The baby was awake and playing on the floor with toys. All required information was posted and attendance had been documented.
The licensee does not administer medication to children in care and does not provide transportation. The back deck has a gate in place and the licensee was encouraged to use the back/side yard for play. There is a small plastic slide on the deck not used by the children.
First aid supplies were complete and family medications and cleaning supplies were stored in cabinets/drawers with child safety latches. The fire extinguisher indicator was in the "green".
Evacuation drill and shelter in place drills are practiced on the same day with the most recent one being done on 5/17/16. The licensee stated there have been no recent injuries to document. The home does not have a fireplace and the land line was in place in the kitchen. The licensee participates in the USDA Food program.
