Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on new space in the basement of the home that the provider will use once the zoning permit for 9 children is approved by Arlington County. The entry into the area from the outside will need to be re-sanded and painted as some of the paint is peeling away from the bricks. In addition, the inside light fixture will need to be replaced. The provider has installed new hardwood floors and will move supplies and equipment into that space for the County Child Care Office to inspect prior to moving the day care into the basement space.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today. Three children were in care plus the provider's daughter for twelve points. The provider's older children in the home with their father in the basement. One child's record was reviewed and complete. Children bring their lunch from home. The fridge was the proper temperature for safe food handling. Emergency drills and supplies were up to date. Children were observed having free play with puzzles, blocks and books as well as some milk. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please sign and date the report and return it to me within 10 calendar days from date of receipt. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me. Thank you Ann Dramstad Licensing Inspector 703-314-0860 ann.dramstad@dss.virginia.gov
