Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included: Location of storage of diapering supplies; curtains; posting of emergency procedures; space between occupied cots/cribs; and documentation of Proof of Identity. Background checks are only effective from the State of Virginia police (not Fairfax County.)

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30 am - 12:10 pm. There were six children present with the provider and assistant for 18 points. I observed children busy in their day: building with Legos; singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and songs from Veggietales; playing with cars; involved in dramatic play and listening to story books. Outdoor areas were not inspected due to the weather. If you have any questions, please contact me at

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-A
Description: During a review of children's records today, it was found that parents were not notified in writing of all required information. Evidence: Because the second page of the Parent Information Form was not available, there was no documentation of items on the second page such as policies for termination of care; notification of where parents can access licensing standard information; and information for the parent regarding the responsibilities of the provider.

Plan of Correction: All parents will have the second page signed and completed.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-B
Description: During today's review of records, it was found that a parent's written acknowledgement of required information was not present in one child's file. Evidence: There was only one page for the "Information for Parents," so the signature page was not present.

Plan of Correction: I will get the second page of the form and have all parents sign it.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
