- Technical Assistance:
1. Reviewed infant feeding regulations-bottles may not be propped to feed.
Conducted an unannounced renewal inspection 10:25-11:35am. Observed 9 children = 25 points with the Provider + Assistant. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were having outdoor play time in the backyard, given a water break, and having diapers changed during the inspection. Infants were napping, having playtime on the floor, and being fed. Caregivers were talking and playing with the children, and promptly tending to their needs. They spoke to the children in a calm, caring, and encouraging manner. The daycare areas of the home were found to be very clean, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. The main daycare room has been rearranged and new equipment/furniture added to offer designated activity spaces/centers, to include a reading library area, and an art activity area. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-770 Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that there was not a working portable battery-operated weather band radio in the home. Evidence: There was an insufficient number of batteries available to power the radio. Plan of Correction: We have Portable battery. We corrected the right battery for the radio [sic] corrected
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-B Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that the record for the current Assistant caregiver did not include required information. Evidence: The Assistant was reportedly hired yesterday, 9/19/16, though there was no documentation of such. Additionally, there was no documentation of, date of birth, 2 reference checks, and qualifications. Plan of Correction: I was collecting her information all done corrected [sic]
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-170-A Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that the Provider did not obtain a TB screening from the current Assistant prior to coming into contact with the children. Evidence: The Assistant was hired 9/19/16, was observed providing direct-care to the children today, and did not have a TB screening on-file. Plan of Correction: She did bring a TB screening corrected
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-340-C Description: Based on observations made, it was determined that the bathroom in the daycare did not contain liquid soap. Evidence: A child was observed using the bathroom and having no soap to wash hands afterward, and the Assistant was observed changing a diaper and having no soap to wash her hands. Plan of Correction: We found the soap after you left under the stool. We will check more often as now after the children use the bathroom corrected
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-c Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that the Provider has not obtained background checks in the last 3 years. Evidence: The Provider's previous Criminal Record Check was completed in July 2013, and Central Registry Check was completed August 2013. Plan of Correction: I am still waiting from criminal records. I should be receiving it soon. As soon As possible when I receive it from them [sic]
