Your time and assistance were appreciated during the unannounced renewal inspection conducted on November 11, 2016 between the hours of approximately 10:15 a.m. and 1:09 p.m. Twelve (12) children were enrolled and three children were in the care of one or two caregivers on this date (6 points). Three children's records were reviewed and/or updated. The caregivers' records were up-to-date and, therefore, not reviewed/updated. No medications were administered, as is the policy in this family day home. Facility documents (attendance record, emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drills and training), posted information (daily schedule, license, inspection documentation, emergency plan/diagram, emergency telephone numbers and menu) and safety equipment (first aid kit, flashlight, fire extinguisher and radio) were observed/reviewed. The water temperature was measured and the refrigerator/freezer temperatures were checked. The lunch served on this date included pizza, carrots, apple slices and milk. Program observation was completed. Activities observed included: indoor play (toys, puzzles and coloring); clean-up; outdoor play; diapering, restroom and handwashing procedures; lunch; and naptime. Adult/child interactions, behavior guidance and daily routines/transitions were observed. The posted daily schedule and menu were consistent with the activities and meal provided. Substantial compliance continues to be maintained; no violations of licensing standards were cited. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.

For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
