63.2 Child Abuse and Neglect
Today's visit was an unannounced complaint inspection. The complaint was initiated due to an allegation of possible forbidden actions. The inspection took place in conjunction with an additional local agency involved in the complaint. During the investigation the licensee and the assistant were interviewed and the involved child's record was reviewed. Based on the investigation there was no evidence of a violation of standards related to the complaint and the complaint is deemed "not valid". Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on the inspector's review of a child's record, the provider failed to obtain parent's written acknowledgement of the receipt of information required to be provided before the child's first day of care. Evidence: The record for child #1 did not include the documentation of the parent's receipt of all of the required information outlined in standard 22VAC 40-111-70. Plan of Correction: The child is no longer in care. The parent's of all children in the future will be asked to complete and sign a form acknowledging the receipt of the family day homes' parent hand book that includes all of the required information. This is currently in place and was overlooked for this particular child.
