22VAC40-80 THE LICENSING PROCESS.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:00am. There were 2 children (6 points) directly supervised by the provider. The home, the provider's record, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing on a handheld device and sleeping. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-A Description: Based on review and interview, provider did not maintain an up-to-date record for each enrolled child. Evidence: During inspection provider did not have records for 2 of 2 children enrolled and present. Plan of Correction: During inspection, provider indicated that she would get the complete records from both parents by Friday, 12/2/2016
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-160 Description: Based on review and interview individuals who reside in the home did not have required documentation. Evidence: ~Provider's son who resides in the home 14 years old did not have completed CPS check during time of inspection. ~New roommate of provider did not have required background checks. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on inspection of Family Day Home cleaning agents were not inaccessible to children. Evidence: During inspection cleaning agents were kept in an unlocked cabinet in a bathroom used by children in care. Plan of Correction: Provider put a lock on cabinet during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-530-F Description: Based on inspection soft bedding was used in a crib. Evidence: pillows and stuffed toys were in a crib occupied by an infant in care. Plan of Correction: Once prompted by inspector, provider removed all pillows and soft toys.
