Discussion held today on the topic of verification of proof of identity. Currently provider only cares for children who come to the family day home directly from school where proof of identity has been verified. However, if the provider remains open in the summer or on school holidays and children are not entering the program from the school, then the provider will need to adequately verify each child's proof of identity
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. 12/08/2016 between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 3 children (3 points) with 1 caregivers. A total of 4 children?s files and 2 staff/household member?s files were reviewed. A review was conducted of emergency supplies and procedures. There was no medication on site for review today. The inspector observed children: eating stack and building with Legos. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain a report of Tuberculosis (TB) screening for each caregiver and adult household member every two years from the date of the first screening. Evidence: 1. Staff/Household Member #1's last documented TB screening was 10/2/2014. 2. Staff/Household Member #2's last documented TB screening was 10/2/2014. Plan of Correction: TB screening conducted and documented.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-G Description: Based on record review and provider statement, the provider's wood burning fireplace has not been inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed. Evidence: 1. No record of an inspection could be produced. 2.. The provider stated that the fireplace is never used and that no inspection has been conducted. Plan of Correction: Inspection of fireplace scheduled.
