Technical Assistance:

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on December 19, 2016 from approximately 9:50 am to 1:00 pm. During this inspection, there were 11 children totaling 26 points being cared for by three staff including the provider. The children were observed singing various Christmas songs while using puppets to entertain their peers and staff, playing with toys and their peers, completing holiday Christmas tree or snowflakes coloring activities, interacting with the staff, and eating lunch. During this inspection, the licensing inspector also observed the children completing their hand washing, and bathroom breaks prior to lunch being served by the staff. The children's lunch consisted of tuna sandwiches, green beans, peas, and milk. During this inspection, one child was observed being picked up by the parent. The designated area for childcare was deemed appropriate and equipped with age appropriate equipment and materials to meet the needs of the children. The inspector observed the required postings to include license, prior inspection summary, and breakfast and lunch menus. The first aid kit and emergency supplies, posted telephone numbers, fire and shelter-in-place drills, emergency preparedness and response plan were inspected and determined to be in compliance with the licensing standards. During this inspection, two children's, the provider's, two substitute providers/assistants, and a household member's records were reviewed for compliance of standards. There are currently no medications being administered by providers. The licensing inspector completed some but not all licensing standards during this inspection. There were no violations cited during this inspection. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (804) 662-9772.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
