The play equipment in the backyard is not in use and off limits to children in care.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 9:10 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m. There were five children in care ranging in age from seven months to two years of age for a total of fourteen points with the provider and assistant. Children were observed having breakfast. Breakfast today was honey nut cheerios, milk and fruit cocktail. Hand washing procedures were observed. After breakfast, children had television time watching an age appropriate t.v. program and free play with toys. Two staff records, one household member record and four children's records were reviewed. Emergency drills were up to date. The weekly menu was posted and up to date. The provider completed 17 training hours for the license year. The provider is not medication administration training (MAT) certified and cannot administer medications to children in care. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-A Description: Based on review of documentation, not all caregiver records were complete. Evidence: Staff B's record did not have date of employment, verification of age and a second reference. Plan of Correction: Her file will updated today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-200-A Description: Based on review of documentation, the provider failed to document orientation training. Evidence: Staff B did not have documentation of orientation training in the file. Plan of Correction: Orientation was done. It will be documented and put in the file.
