Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included vitamins as medication at licensed family day homes.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:30 - 2 pm. There were four children present with the provider and assistant for 13 points. I observed children eating lunch, playing with toys, crawling and creeping, and listening to a soothing music while preparing for nap. Record keeping was well-organized. If you have any questions, please contact me at

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-530-B
Description: During today's inspection, two crib sheets were observed not to have a tight fitting bottom cover as required. Evidence:. Two crib sheets were loose

Plan of Correction: The provider replaced the sheets with tighter sheets during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-c
Description: During a review of record keeping, a repeat background check was not available. Evidence: All background checks were present today except for the provider's criminal background check

Plan of Correction: It was done in 2015. I will look for it but if I can't find it, I will send for another one.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
