Consultation was given on VA DSS training links and model forms.
An announced initial study was conducted today from 9:30-10:40. One child was present upon arrival with two additional ones arriving at the end of the inspection. Two caregivers were present and ratios were within compliance. Two rooms will be in use for day care space. The provider has been permitted by Arlington County and is zoned for a capacity of 5 children. Emergency supplies, plan and trainings (First aid and CPR) are all up to date. Two cribs are in use and meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission compliance requirements. Children were observed in free play and interacting with both caregivers. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please sign and date the report and return it to me within 5 calendar days from date of receipt. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-A Description: Based on observation, the refrigerator temperature exceeded 40 degrees. Evidence: The thermometer registered 43 degrees during the inspection. Plan of Correction: The provider lowered the temperature control and will follow up in an hour to make sure the temperature dropped to 40 or below.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-B Description: Based on record review, the assistant record was incomplete. Evidence: The record was missing the assistant record containing name, address, date of hire, emergency contact and verification of age. Plan of Correction: The assistant record will be completed with all required information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-200-A Description: Based on observation, an assistant personnel record did not have the orientation documentation. Evidence: The provider went over the required information but has not completed the form to verify orientation was given. Plan of Correction: The provider will complete the documentation to verify the orientation was completed.
