A renewal inspection was conducted today with the provider, who was present with three preschoolers for a total of 7 points. The children were on their mats for nap but were awake during most of the inspection. One child's file was reviewed today. There were no medications on site and there have been no injuries/accidents documented. At the end of the inspection the children were served granola bars and bananas/apple and milk for their afternoon snack. Arrival time: 2:05 pm Departure time: 3 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-430-B Description: Based on an inspection of the upstairs area, there was a pressure mounted gate at the top of the stairs opening. Evidence: There was a pressure mounted gate at the top of the stairs opening while a 16 month old child was present. Plan of Correction: I usually place the gate at the opening prior to the stairs. I will either use a wall mounted acceptable gate or make sure that the pressure mounted is placed at the appropriate location and not at the stairs opening.
