Technical Assistance:

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from approximately 10:34 am to 12:03 pm to determine compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, there were three children observed in care totaling nine points with two caregivers. The children were observed in the designated area playing with age appropriate blocks, and completing puzzles. The infant child was observed during feeding and completing tummy time on the carpet. The inspector conducted interviews with the caregivers and interacted with children as appropriate. The lunch menu for today consisted of hotdogs, meat cheese, oranges, and green beans. During this inspection, there was no observation of the children eating their lunch due to it being scheduled at a later time. The required postings were observed and deemed in compliance at this time. The licensing inspector inspected the main room, kitchen area, napping area, bathroom, diapering mat, and play area. There were three children's records and three records to include the provider and household members reviewed during this inspection. The provider, provider's assistant, and household member are First Aid/CPR certified and completed annual training requirements. The first aid kit and emergency supplies were also inspected for compliance. The emergency preparedness plan was reviewed for annual update on 08/14/16. The last emergency drills and shelter in place drills were completed on 01/06/17.
Shelter-in-place drills for 2016: 11/28/16, 12/07/16
The previous violations cited were checked for correction. There were no violations cited as a result of this inspection completed today. The provider is strongly recommended to continue compliance with licensing standards. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (804) 662-9772.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
