Technical Assistance:
The provider can begin caring for children in her temporary home location. The license will be modified to reflect the new address and reduced maximum capacity of 7 children.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider and one assistant caregiver were caring for 6 children, totaling 15 points. The children were observed playing with toys, building with blocks, playing outside, and taking a walk. The children were to be served pasta with meatballs, mixed vegetables, apple slices, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-A
Description: Based on a review of emergency documentation, it was determined that the provider has not updated the Emergency Preparedness Plan as required. Evidence: The Emergency Preparedness Plan has not been updated to reflect the correct evacuation procedures for the provider's temporary home location.

Plan of Correction: I will update the plan.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on a review of posted documents, it was determined that the provider has not posted all required information. Evidence: The current menu was not posted.

Plan of Correction: I will post the menu.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-B
Description: Based on a review of the physical plant, it was determined that the provider does not have all required items in the children's food refrigerator. Evidence: The provider does not have a thermometer inside the refrigerator that is used to store the children's foods and drinks.

Plan of Correction: I will put the thermometer in the refrigerator.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that the backyard play area has not been maintained in a safe manner. Evidence: The backyard play patio area is at the top of a steep backyard slope. This area has not been enclosed to ensure the children stay inside the designated play area.

Plan of Correction: I will bring the gate enclosure and set it up in the backyard play area.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-50-A-1-a
Description: Based on a review of adult background checks, it was determined that two background checks have not yet been completed. Evidence: Two adults living in the home have not signed a Sworn Disclosure Statement. (SDS)

Plan of Correction: I will make sure both of them sign a SDS today.
