The inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 11:15 until 12:45. There were 9 (nine) children in care for 26 points with the provider and assistant providing care and supervision the entire time. Children were observed napping, being fed a bottle, being read to, washing hands, and eating a lunch that met USDA guidelines. The violation from the last inspection had been corrected. Three adult records were reviewed and two children's files were reviewed. Please contact your inspector at 276-698-9981 with any questions.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on inspection, the provider did not have a crib that met the CPSC requirements. Evidence: 1. The inspector inspected a crib being used by the provider and it was manufactured in 2008. Plan of Correction: The provider will purchase a crib that meets the CPSC standard. The provider will submit appropriate documentation to the inspector within 30 days of the receipt of the violation notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-G Description: Based on record review, the wood-burning fireplace/stove had not been inspected annually. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed the last inspection and it was dated 9/21/15. Plan of Correction: The provider will call a heating contractor, a chimney sweep or fire department personnel to have the inspection.
