Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, April 12, 2017 from 10:15am-11:30am. There were 7 children(21 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, 1 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely . There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Kara Wright at Kara.wright@dss.virginia.gov or 703-537-6241.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on record review and provider statement, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly. Evidence: An emergency evacuation drill was not conducted in January or February 2017.

Plan of Correction: It was a misunderstanding. I thought the tornado drills we did in January and February counted as fire drills. I will do fire drills every month from now on.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on record review, one of 3 children's record checked was incomplete. Evidence: Child # 2's record did not contain a health insurance policy number or a physical address for a second emergency contact person.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents to provide this information.
