Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today at the Provider's home. This inspection occurred between 10:30am and 12:15pm. When Inspector arrived there were 11 children (34points) with Provider and 2 assistants. The children were observed completing a newspaper craft that required the children to use scissors and glue. A nice transition to free play from the table top activity was observed. The younger children were observed being held by staff and had free play with ample toys available that were determined appropriate for the age of the children in care. Observation of lunch was made which consisted of pizza, fresh fruit slices and milk. Handwashing procedures were observed. Staff were observed preparing the children for nap time. A total of 6 children's records, all staff records and one household member record was reviewed. One medication on site during the inspection, authorization, expiration date and MAT training for staff was verified. The previous violations were reviewed from the December 2016 licensing inspection and corrective actions were verified. Annual staff training will be reviewed at the next licensing inspection. Thank you for your cooperation today. Feel free to contact me via e mail if questions arise. lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov

In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal.
