An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was completed on April 27, 2017. There were 10 children in care, for a total of 25 points with two caregivers. All caregivers have completed the Virginia Pre-Service training and have CPR and first aid certification. The children were observed reading stories, singing, dancing and eating a lunch of navy beans, wheat bread, mustard greens, cantaloupe and milk. The facility does not administer medication. The facility does not provide transportation. The last evacuation drill was conducted 4/19/17. The most recent shelter -in-place was conducted 3/21/17. A whole house walk through was conducted. Three caregiver, and four children?s records were reviewed. Approximate time on site: 10:40am to 2:30pm
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-004-F Description: Based on observations at the facility, the provider did not post a current list of children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions. EVIDENCE: There are two children at the facility with food allergies and/or sensitivities. The provider did not post a list of the allergies and sensitivities or keep in a way that is immediately accessible to a caregiver. Plan of Correction: I will post the list of children's allergies.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-006-B Description: Based on a review of a sample of children's records, the provider did not have a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food which the child is allergic to and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. EVIDENCE: The record of child#1, who is allergic to milk, did not contain a written allergy care plan. Plan of Correction: I will talk to the parent about getting the allergy care plan from the doctor.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-A Description: Based on a review of the facility's emergency preparedness plan, the facility did not have a plan that includes all required components. EVIDENCE: The emergency preparedness plan did not include lockdown procedures. Plan of Correction: I will get it typed up and added by next week.

EVIDENCE: The evacuation and relocation procedures did not include accommodation or special requirements for infants, toddlers and children with special needs.
