22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 3:00 to 4:00pm. Eight children were present with the provider and assistant. Total 23 points with two caregivers. The children were getting up from nap, having their diapers changed and eating snack. Two new children have been enrolled since the last inspection. Their records were reviewed today. The provider's MAT certification has expired, so she is not administering any medication until she renews her training. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703-479-4709.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-70-A Description: Based on record review, it was found that there was no documentation that the parents of one new child were provided the information on the provider's medication administration policy or whether the provider has liability insurance coverage. Plan of Correction: The parents will be provided the written information and documentation that the parents received the information will be obtained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-80-C Description: Based on record review, it was found that there was no documentation of verification of the identity and age of one new child. Plan of Correction: Verification of the identity and age of this child will be obtained and documented in the child's record.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-200-C Description: Based on record review, there was no documentation of orientation training found for the assistant who started in March 2016. Plan of Correction: The orientation training for this assistant will be documented and kept on file.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, diaper creams and petroleum jelly were stored on the bottom shelf under the changing table, an area that is accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: They will be removed and stored in an area inaccessible to the children.
