Household medication was observed on top of the kitchen fridge in a sealed container.
A complaint investigation was conducted after an allegation was received about care of children. The Inspector observed the home, interviewed the staff, and checked records in response to concerns that household medication is out and that children are not supervised. The findings do not support the allegation and it has been deemed not valid. There were three children present for a total of 8 points but does have an assistant to help. During the inspection, the Inspector did observe violations not included in the complaint. Please call with questions 703-479-4679.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on record review of a caregivers file, the Provider has not documented Orientation training and references for caregiver #2. Plan of Correction: I will obtain written references and have assistant complete Orientation.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation of outside play area, the Provider has weed care pesticide in an area accessible to children. Plan of Correction: I always have children in my sight when outside as well as inside. I will remove container and lock it up.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-500-E Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, the Provider is not ensuring the sand box is covered when not in use. The sand box's lid was not placed on the box and the Inspector noted it has green residue on top of sand. Plan of Correction: I will dump sand, I will clean the box and I will cover after use.
