Technical Assistance:
You are reminded that effective 7/1/2017 the new sworn affirmation form that includes whether staff have lived outside of the state of Virginia in the past five years must be used.

Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted this date. A total of 7 children present (21pts) with Provider and 1 assistant. No new staff has been hired since the last licensing inspection in February 2017. One new child enrolled since the last licensing inspection. Background checks, TB screening, annual training and CPR/First Aid were all verified for all staff and 1 household member's required background checks and TB screening were verified. Children were observed playing in small groups, singing with provider and assistant. Children's gross motor skills were needed to play with the tunnel and bus equipment. Staff's diapering and hand washing procedures were observed. French toast was served for breakfast today. Children transitioned smoothly to coloring activities and younger children were observed playing with age appropriate toys with assistant while provider assisted the other children with their coloring. A matching activity was observed with the children and children were observed actively engaged. Observation of physical plant conducted and crib area was made along with the diapering area, all of which was found clean and well maintained. Evacuation and shelter in place drills current and annual staff training verified. Four children's records and all staff and household records reviewed this date. Records for both children and staff were well organized and complete. Provider does not administer medications. This inspection began at 9:15am and ended at 11am. Thank you for your cooperation.
