An unannounced non-mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on July 6, 2017 between the hours of 11:21 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Fourteen(14) children were enrolled and five children were in the care of two caregivers, on this date. One additional child was visiting in the home. Three children's records and one caregiver's record were reviewed and/or updated. Activities observed included: lunch, naptime and quiet actitivies for one non-napping child. Refer to the violation notice for one exception to compliance identified during this inspection (background clearance). Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on review of caregiver #2's record and discussion with caregiver #1 on July 6, 2017, a central registry finding was not obtained within 30 days of caregiver #2's employment date. Evidence: 1. Review of caregiver #2's record, on this date, determined that the date of employment was 5/08/2017 and the central registry finding was dated 6/28/17. 2. Caregiver #1 confirmed that the central registry clearance request was not mailed within one week of caregiver #2's date of employment. Plan of Correction: In the future, background clearance request forms will be completed and mailed within one week of an employee's hire date.
