The licensing inspectors conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:00am - 12:00pm. There were ten children in care for a total of 20 points with three caregivers. The children were observed playing outside, listening to a story, during lunch and preparing for naps. Three caregiver's and five children's records were reviewed. Violations from the previous inspection were also reviewed and one was repeated. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to have all required supplies in the first aid kit. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the supplies in the first aid kit. There was no tape in the kit. Plan of Correction: Tape will be purchased today for the first aid kit.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-A Description: Based on interview, the family day home failed to have their emergency preparedness and response plan available for review. Evidence: 1. The inspector asked the provider for the home's emergency preparedness plan to review. The provider could not locate the plan. Plan of Correction: The home's plan has been misplaced. If the plan can not be located a new plan will be completed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record reviews, the family day home failed to obtain all required information for the children's records. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five children's records. One of five records reviewed (child record #1) did not contain physical addresses for their emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: The provider will request this information from the parents tomorrow.
