An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-11:10am. The provider has changed residences since the past inspection and the new location, including the outdoor area, childcare area and the private residence, was inspected today. The downstairs child care area is clean, bright, organized and supplied with a variety of toys, books and materials for young children. There was 1 child(3 points) directly supervised by the provider. The home, 1 staff record, 1 child's record, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. The child in care was observed playing freely with direct supervision, and singing and dancing to children's songs. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on record review, one adult did not have a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form, in accordance with the requirements in 22 VAC 40-111-170, every two years from the date of the first screening or more frequently as recommended by a physician or the local health department. Evidence: Adult 1's most current Report of Tuberculosis Screening was completed on 9/16/2014. Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain a new screening next week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-540-B Description: Based on observation, the family day home has infant walkers available for use. Evidence: An infant walker with wheels was observed in one of the rooms in the downstairs childcare area. Plan of Correction: The provider will remove the wheels.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-E Description: Based on observation, disposable diapers were not disposed of in a leak-proof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the caregiver's hand nor the soiled diaper or wipe touches the exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. Evidence: The trash can in use by the family day home is not leak proof as there is no lid attached to the base of the unit. Plan of Correction: The provider will locate another diaper pail for use.
