A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on September 26th 2017 between 10:30am and 1:45pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 8 children in the direct care of 2 providers. Children were observed eating lunch, washing hands, playing outside, and napping. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Please send questions regarding this new requirement to

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-005-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider does not have a written hard copy of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child as it occurs.

Plan of Correction: Will print out the attendance sheets to fill out every day.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider and assistant have not completed the Virginia Pre-service training for child care staff. Evidence: The provider stated to the inspector that she had not completed the pre-service training.

Plan of Correction: Will get the training information and will complete the training.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-A
Description: Based on observation, the family day home does not have a written emergency preparedness plan that addresses caregiver responsibility and home readiness with respect to lock down procedures. Evidence: The provider has procedures for shelter-in-place and evacuation drills, but not for lock down situations.

Plan of Correction: I will create it with my staff.
