Technical Assistance:
An exit meeting was completed by the licensing inspector with the provider and provider's assistant to review the outcome of today's inspection.

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from approximately 1:19 pm to 2:15 pm to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. Upon the inspector's arrival the children were napping in the designated area in the family day home. The licensing inspector completed observation of the children while napping and inspected the area for compliance with the standards. During this inspection, there were 7 children present in care totaling 15 points being supervised by the provider and the provider's assistant. The designated area for childcare was deemed appropriate and equipped with age appropriate equipment and materials to meet the needs of the children. The outdoor playground areas, kitchen, and bathroom for the children were inspected today as well. The licensing also completed observation of the caregiver's assistant preparing for lunch for the children. The children's lunch for today consisted of ground turkey, macaroni, spinach, and milk. The provider also prepares breakfast and two snacks for the children in care at the family day home. The licensing inspector observed the required postings to include license, prior inspection summary, and menu which were deemed in compliance. The family day home's first aid kit and emergency supplies, attendance log, emergency contacts, emergency drills, and thermometers were inspected. During this inspection, there were three children's records, one caregiver's, and one caregiver's assistant's record reviewed. Medication is not being administered and transportation is not provided by the provider at this time.
If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (804)-662-9772.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor.
