A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/10/2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Children were observed and children and staff files were reviewed. There were 6 children in care, aged 4 months-4 years, totaling 20 points with the vendor and assistant present. Children were observed doing activities, having play groups, having morning snack time, and participating in personal hygiene. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. This inspection began at 8:30am and concluded at 11:30am.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-A Description: Based on review of documents and discussions with the vendor, the vendor failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to the pre-service training. Non-compliance with this standard was previously cited on 5/3/2017, and again today 10/10/2017. Evidence: There was no certificate of completion for the 10 hour pre-service training, for staff 1, as required. Plan of Correction: This training is currently being worked on. Once completed the certificate will be added to the file for future review.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-B Description: Based on review of documents and discussions with the vendor, the vendor failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to the pre-service training for staff. Evidence: There was no certificate of completion for the 10 hour pre-service, for staff 2 and 3, training as required. Plan of Correction: This training is currently being worked on. Once completed the certificate will be added to the file for future review.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-A Description: Based on review of documents and discussions with the vendor, the vendor failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to lock down procedures. Evidence: There were no lock down procedures as required as of this inspection. Plan of Correction: These procedures will be documented in our plan.
