Technical Assistance:
We talked about storage of personal items considered toxic/hazardous such as hair products, polish and hand sanitizer so that they are never accessible to children. We reviewed the requirements during transportation of children, including written information in the vehicle and use of child seat restraints.

Thank you for your assistance during the unannounced focused monitoring inspection conducted from 3:05 PM to 4:25 PM. Today, there were seven children ages infancy through four years, including one resident toddler, during the day. A parent arrived ahead of the after school children when three of her children arrived along with three school age children receiving care. Ten children were present for care by 3:53 PM. An additional child was expected between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM. I viewed corrections with children's records. There were no changes with caregivers since the last inspection. I viewed records for three children, attendance records, attendance schedules and capacity, snack, infant care and feeding, hand washing routines, activities, staffing, supervision, and interactions with children.

We talked about the times children are in care and the importance of making sure schedules allow for departures prior to new arrivals so that there are no more than twelve children in care at any one time. Also, per your written plan and agreement, you must inform the licensing inspector each time you take children on outings away from the residence.

Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430/9259

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
