Technical Assistance:
Discussed the recent communication regarding fingerprint based background checks for child day programs. Anyone who has lived in another state in the past five years is required to request a check of the child abuse and neglect registry for each state they have lived in the past five years

Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 1:30pm to 2:50pm. The children were observed resting on cots, and the infants were observed being held. Today, there were seven children, totaling 18 points, present with two caregivers. Lunch consisted of: shrimp, collard greens, pears, saltine crackers and milk Five children?s records, three caregivers? records and one household record were reviewed during the inspection. Last emergency drill: 10/30/2017 Last shelter-in-place drill: 01/17/2017 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on a review of caregiver records on 10/31/2017, the provider did not ensure that caregivers obtain a minimum of 16 clock hours of training annually in areas relevant to their job responsibilities. EVIDENCE: The record of Caregiver #2, whose date of hire is 05/14/2016, did not contain 16 hours of training between 05/14/2016 and 05/14/2017.

Plan of Correction: Training was completed, but could not locate documentation.
